This is a very formal, royal costume. The costume consists of the petticoat made of muslin and the underskirt which is made of satin or taffeta. The dress is fully lined,front opening and may be made of brocade, velvet, corduroy, or heavy cottons. The neckline has a sheer insert which will match the undersleeves. The sleeves themselves are split so the undersleeve may show through. Trimmings may be of braid, pearls, gems, bows, rosettes, jewelled buttons, etc. Decorations were quite elaborate for this time period, so please let your imagine run wild!
